Home---a simple word but has meaning like almost no other. Why do I bring this up?
TICA is my home. I have lived in a few different "homes" over my 35+ years in the Cat Fancy but TICA has been my only "home" for many years now. I see the hope, the smiles, the hugs....we have also gone through some sad times with my TICA "community" which was made a little bit easier when our friends rally.
I have been working hard on my TICA "home" and my "neighborhood"-I put on shows, exhibit, help others, been a Regional Director, a Deputy Regional Director, done numerous events, worn many different hats, completed the Judging Program training and am now a 'baby' judge with my "home".
Some people are moving "homes" to LCWW and that is fine, I wish you well in your new home. Some people are getting a second "home"---awesome, my hope is that you visit both of your 'homes' as I will miss you in my TICA "neighborhood" I am happy here in my TICA home-amongst my fellow exhibitors, members, judges, friends and community. #TICAStrong
As far as the strife over the last few weeks it has been unsettling and I have been asked my take--which is this. We, the TICA members, elect these officials to do so and I think much care, much debate and much angst was involved. They have done their due diligence (and then some) in hearing the complaint, testimony, evidence and took all matters in account. The decisions could not have been easy to do-as we are talking about our "family". No one wants to be put into this position. The actions taken regarding clubs and shows again was handled by our elected Board and in the best interest of TICA as is their duty.
Bullying and reputation ripping has got to stop---not just in the cat fancy but in life in general. There is sooo much negativity and sadness in this world without adding more...let us hug our cats, give kisses to our family and wave, if nothing, else to our neighbors.
